How to buy an excavator in hot weather?

Suppose you want to buy an excavator, as an industry practitioner, how should I recommend it to you? You should think from following four perspective:

First, should you buy a new excavator or a used one?

  1. Consider the environmental conditions. Can a used excavator meet local environmental requirements?
  2. If it is for a construction project, consider the cost-benefit ratio. How many years can the purchase price of the excavator be recovered? If it is for personal use, consider your main usage scenarios, such as a garden or a farm?

Next, choose the model.

  1. A large excavator or a mini excavator? It mainly depends on the working conditions. For wide-area demolition, crushing, or mining, consider a large excavator. For urban municipal engineering projects, choose a mini excavator.
  2. Choose a locally popular model, and avoid buying obscure models. For example, if the local preference is for the 20 model, do not buy the 12 model. This makes maintenance easier and resale more straightforward.

Then, select a brand.

  1. If budget is not a concern, a top international brand for peace of mind in maintenance and potential resale value.
  2. If looking to minimize investment and achieve quick returns, choose a domestic brand. The best cost-performance ratio often lies in products from factories that ODM top-tier brands.

Compare the configurations of models of the same tonnage from different brands, including engine model/horsepower, hydraulic system brand, and the weight of the body. These key components are all crucial.

Lastly, consider the after-sales service. Look at the length of the warranty period and the tools and maintenance items provided for free.

Most importantly, in the summer, be sure to choose a mini excavator with a cab and air conditioning. Life is already tough, so try to make your work environment as comfortable as possible.

Everyone has different purchasing needs and requirements for excavators, so it’s essential to analyze your own needs carefully before making a decision.
