With the start of a new factory in the United States in September, are they shifting their focus to the American market?
In September 2024, Develon (formerly Doosan Construction Machinery) and HD Hyundai Construction Equipment held a joint opening ceremony for a brand-new factory in Savannah, Georgia, USA.
The new factory is primarily dedicated to custom modifications and equipment testing for loaders, excavators, and other construction machinery. The facility features multiple production lines and a large amount of equipment, with an initial capacity to customize up to 1,800 units annually. The future production capacity of the factory is expected to increase to 3,000 units.
Through this comprehensive custom factory, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment NA will be able to manage assembly work and modifications needed by North American dealers and their customers. The main purpose of this center is to streamline the machine delivery process while maintaining sufficient inventory.
The new factory is 50% larger than the existing custom factory in Savannah, Georgia, and it enhances production capacity with dedicated machine storage yards and expanded indoor warehouses.
The Brunswick custom factory is located near Interstate 95, providing convenient transportation once the DEVELON machines are ready for shipment, thus reducing delivery times. DEVELON’s North American headquarters is in Suwanee, Georgia, which includes a parts distribution center for delivering readily available DEVELON machine parts. In August, DEVELON began operating a warehouse in Georgia.
